Why Running has Helped me with School

I used to hate running. I thought that it sucked and would take up too much time from classes and work. Once I got it into it though, I realized how much running actually helped with things that I thought were unrelated.

I was never good at running in grade school. I always hated the pacer test and dreaded having to do the mile run. When I got to college, nothing changed. But now, I didn't have to run, it wasn't going to be part of a grade anymore.

I thought that I "didn't have time to go for a run" and that it would take time away from classes and work. But one day I decided to make a lifestyle change and finally conquer the hill that was running (literally and metaphorically).

At first, I hated running more than ever. It was so challenging and I still felt like it was a waste of time. Slowly but surely, however, I became better at running and I started feeling what's called a "runners high."

Running starting becoming a part of my daily life and could always clear my mind.

I would run when I was stressed with classes, and the run would clear my head and allow me to focus better. And if my run did take longer, it would just force me to be more efficient with my hours in the day.

I still run religiously now. I have gotten faster and can run for longer. I run when I'm stressed with school or feel anxious about anything. Running has helped with my clarity and time management and I recommend that everyone should get into it, no matter how hard it may be.
